Ushuaia announces opening of club ‘Hi’, where Space once stood

When Space finally shutdown in September 2016, there was a ton of speculation regarding what would be done with the hallowed ground that the ‘world’s most awarded club’ once stood proudly on. Most sources guessed that Ushuaia would set up a new, facelifted, and rebranded version of Space.

However Ushaia have now confirmed that an entirely new club would be established on Space’s resting place. Called ‘Hi,’ the club “aims to unite the highest standards of music and entertainment, bringing world-class music experiences to a club designed with the dancer in mind.” It plans to do so by prudently balancing performances by “the biggest stars in the scene” and “the leading lights of the underground.”

Will this audacious new venture be greeted with open arms? Or will it be frowned upon by dance music purists? Only time will tell.
