TroyBoi and Ekali release long-awaited ‘Truth’
TroyBoi and Ekali have been teasing audiences with their joint-effort “Truth” in sets and mixes for the past year, with many speculating on Twitter as to whether or not the song would ever see an official release. However the duo has dispelled all doubt, finally unveiling the track. According to Troyboi, the two concocted the trap tune while on his Mantra Tour together.
The track follows a vast string of recent releases from Troyboi, including his 20-track Left Is Right EP, along with several other singles arriving shortly thereafter. At the very least, no one can accuse the man of having idle hands.
“Truth” slightly resembles the Middle Eastern sound design of Ekali’s “Babylon,” with atmospheric builds, flute melodies, and similar shaker sampling. However in the drop, TroyBoi’s wonky, idiosyncratic London-trap production takes over.
