After teasing the release of Parallel: S via a cryptic website the week of March 22, 1788-L has delivered the EP, which represents his first new music since 2019.
The EP, which includes “Human Machine” and “Automaton,” is inspired in part by Daft Punk. Parallel: S notes a shift in 1788-L’s sound, highlighting a new era for the producer, who taps in to synthwave melodies on “Human Machine” and more bass-heavy sounds on “Automaton.” Both tracks find 1788-L departing from the dark energies found in his previous releases to gravitate toward groove-filled sounds.
