Boy North’s “Was It The Wind That Stirred The Trees” has built rapport with dance audiences since its July 2021 release. Now, the single—Boy North’s first to hit 1 million streams—is getting a conceptually guided sequel, and listeners have themselves to thank for the continuation.

“I honestly still cannot believe how amazing ‘Was It The Wind That Stirred The Trees’ has done and is still doing,” Boy North said. “I’m continuously getting so much love worldwide on this track and such lovely comments and messages…and for that, it was only right to complete the story with a follow-up record.”

For the uninitiated and those in need of a refresher alike, it’s worth recalling the narrative of the first part of this mini sonic series. Atop melodic, progressive production, Boy North situated a voicemail message that a woman leaves her former partner. “I don’t know if you miss me too, I mean I haven’t heard from you but, I hope you do,” she says. This excerpt is but one part of a vulnerable, minutes-long confession that starts with a simple but meaningful admission: “I miss you.”

The resonance and relatability of “Was It The Wind That Stirred The Trees” made the record an easy one to connect with. This style holds on “Part 2,” on which listeners hear the woman’s partner pour his heart out, also in a voicemail. Buoyed by feeling melodic production that seamlessly extends the the first part of the “Was It The Wind That Stirred The Trees” saga, “Part 2” is equally emotive and likely to appeal to audiences. “I just wanted to say I felt something when I heard your voice,” the song, that Boy North calls “a heartfelt melodic journey,” begins.
